Refunds & Consumer Guarantees

Last updated 29 July 2026

CubeBloom is sold in Australia, so the Australian Consumer Law applies to it. This page sets out the rights you already have by law, and how we handle refunds and cancellations on top of them.

Before this goes liveThis is a drafted starting point, not legal advice. Fill in every highlighted field and have it reviewed before you take payments. The pricing-page checkout is currently a design mock — no payment is processed.

1. Your consumer guarantees

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing on this page, in our Terms of Service, or anywhere else on this site, reduces those rights. If something we say appears to conflict with them, the law wins.

Among other things, the services we supply must:

  • be provided with due care and skill;
  • be fit for any purpose we told you they'd be fit for;
  • be delivered within a reasonable time.

2. Major and minor failures

The remedy you're entitled to depends on how badly the service failed.

Major failureYou can cancel your contract with us and get a refund for the unused portion, or keep the service and ask for compensation for the drop in value. You can also be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss. A major failure is one you wouldn't have bought the service if you'd known about — for example, if the tier you paid for never worked at all, or was substantially different from what we described.
Minor failureWe'll fix the problem within a reasonable time and at no charge. If we don't, you can cancel and get a refund for the unused portion of your contract, or have it fixed elsewhere and recover the reasonable cost from us.

The choice of remedy for a major failure is yours, not ours.

3. Change of mind

Consumer guarantees cover faults, not regret. We're not legally required to refund a change of mind — but Free exists precisely so you can try CubeBloom properly before paying, and in practice we'll consider a change-of-mind refund on a monthly payment made in the last [7 / 14] days if you've barely used it. Ask and we'll look at it.

Annual plans: because a year is a long time to be stuck with the wrong tier, we offer a [14 / 30]-day change-of-mind window on any annual payment, refunded in full. This is in addition to your rights above. If you simply picked the wrong tier, you can switch between Beginner and Intermediate & Advanced instead — see the Terms.

4. Cancelling a subscription

Cancel from your account settings, in the same number of steps it took to subscribe. We will never require a phone call, an email, or a “are you sure?” retention sequence to let you leave.

  • Cancelling stops the next renewal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Cancelling part-way through a period isn't automatically refunded for the remainder — you keep the access you paid for instead. If the service failed you, section 2 applies and you may be owed a refund for the unused portion.
  • Your solve history stays yours. You can export it at any time, on any plan, including after cancelling.

5. Renewals and price changes

We'll tell you before your first renewal and before any price change, and your renewal date and amount are always visible in your account. If we raise the price, you can cancel before it takes effect. We won't charge a higher price without telling you first.

6. Outages

Short interruptions for maintenance aren't a failure of the consumer guarantees. A prolonged outage that stops you using a paid plan is — if that happens, contact us and we'll extend your plan or refund the affected period.

7. How to ask for a refund

  1. Email [support@yourdomain.com] from the address on your account.
  2. Tell us your plan, roughly when you paid, and what went wrong. Receipts help but aren't essential — we can find the payment.
  3. We'll acknowledge within 5 business days and give you a decision within 14.
  4. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank.

We won't charge you a fee for making a claim, and we won't require you to accept a credit or voucher where the law entitles you to a refund.

8. If you're not happy with our answer

Tell us first — most things get sorted at that point. If they don't, you can take it further, free of charge:

  • your state or territory consumer protection agency (for example Consumer Affairs Victoria, NSW Fair Trading);
  • the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission at accc.gov.au.

You can do this whether or not you've used our process, and it doesn't affect any other rights you have.
